Back, and just catching up after a near perfect conference experience at the Health Libraries Group meeting in Eastbourne, see Tom Roper's blog for other reports.
The venue, the Winter Garden was quaint but very good - and with the use of space in the Tennis Centre (home of the Davis Cup) there was plenty enough room for the 320(ish) delegates.
There was a good range of papers, and good interactive sessions too. I was speaking about 'Professionalism', and it was good to see other speakers making similar points.
The conference had a good range of official (and unofficial) social events, including a World Cup Final party at Tom Roper's, and a Birthday Dinner for half centurion Bruce Madge.
As Sue was accompanying me, we also managed to go 'off conference' and eat an excellent meal at the well regarded 'Hungry Monk' the home of the Banoffi Pie (I couldn't finish mine it was huge!).
In keeping with our Summer to date the weather was excellent, facilitating an outdoor swim in the Hotel pool every day (sadly the sea was reported as very cold), and even a jog along the seafront on a couple of occasions.
